Little Sister

Bueno, si mirás las anteriores entradas de este humilde blog, no queda duda que soy un gran fan de Queens of the Stone Age. Este tema habla de un flaco que directamente se garcha a su hermana menor. Muy enfermizo y con un sonido espectacular como nos tiene acostumbrados esta TREMENDA banda.

"Little Sister" fue el primer single lanzado por Queens of the Stone Age de su cuarto album Lullabies to Paralyze. La canción fue grabada en vivo en el estudio en una sola toma.
Hubo una versión preliminar grabada con Dave Grohl en 2002 para el album Songs for the Deaf, pero fue desechada. Según Josh Homme, la canción fue inspirada por la especie de "giro sexual" de Doc Pomus de mismo nombre, probablemente más conocida por la grabación de Elvis Presley.

Cuando QOTSA tocaron esta canción en Saturday Night Live el 14 de Mayo de 2005, el actor/comediante Will Ferrell, que era el presentador del show ese día, subió al escenario y tocó el cencerro (cowbell) como el miembro ficticio de Blue Öyster Cult, Gene Frenkle. Esto fue una repetición del rol que Ferrell compuso en un famoso sketch de SNL en 2000 dónde el actor Christopher Walken demanda más cencerro ("More cowbell!") durante la grabación de estudio del famoso tema de la banda, "(Don't Fear) The Reaper", para el disgusto del resto de la banda. En "Little Sister" el sonido es en realidad hecho con un jam block, instrumento muy parecido al cencerro del sketch.

Otra canción de Queens of the Stone Age, una banda a la que he desempolvado y estoy en mi época de fanático de nuevo...
La traducción del título sería:
"Primero dió", es un inglés muy antiguo y en desuso ("giveth", "taketh"), creo que la frase viene de la biblia...
En fin, no ando muy inspirado para redactar, mejor echarle un vistazo al video, con la letruzca a mano y prestar atención al estribillo que tiene un parte de mucha bata de la buena (algunos lo hacen con doble pedal, otros no...)

luego de escuchar el temete, no se pierdan el cover de batería del tema que dos pibes subieron a YouTube. El primero le da sin doble pedal a una velocidad envidiable y el segundo le da al doble pedal que da miedo...otra forma de analizar un temita, desde mi punto de vista más que humilde e ignorante...que les aPTzca...

No One Knows

Simple. Una de las mejores bandas de la historia. Si no escuchaste "Songs for the Deaf" con todo respeto a tu persona, no escuchaste NADA. En ese disco, el baterista invitado es ni más ni menos que Dave Grohl asi que imaginate. Es imposible elegir el mejor tema de esta banda pero de seguro que éste es un símbolo y el video está muy bueno...recomiendo ampliamente bajar (o comprar si te sobra la plata) los discos "Songs for the Deaf" y "Lullabies to Paralyze".
